Deadlines set by the New Patent Law
The New Patent Law of Mongolia is in force since 23rd September 2021. For all applications filed on or after this date, the following deadlines are applicable:

Trademark Law
Mongolia remains a challenging place for trademark enforcement, especially for well-known marks. Dr Uyanga Delger’s recent article explains about Mongolia’s enforcement system. The article is published in the March edition of the INTA Bulletin.
The Revised Law of Mongolia on Trademark and Geographical Indications (TML) entered into force on September 23, 2021.
A substantial change to the existing law is adding applications made in bad faith to the list of grounds for refusal of registration (Art. 5.2.11 TML). An application in bad faith constitutes, therefore, a ground for an opposition filing. Additionally, a trademark registration may be revoked later in an invalidation procedure on the same grounds.
